Hi there! We are Slow Goat Farm

Lindsey Washkoviak, originally from Wisconsin, moved to Lander, WY in the spring of 2012 for work. She quickly fell in love with the area and a local man, Ben Elzay.

The love of food is what truly brought us together. Since the beginning of our relationship we have devoted our time to the pursuit of healthy, local food.  We hunt, fish, wild forage, and grow as much of our own food as we can.  Nothing is more satisfying then a 100% locally grown & harvested meal.   It was only natural that we started making our own cheese.

In 2015 we were gifted three Nigerian Dwarf goats that jump started Slow Goat Farm; a micro dairy producing small batch, farmstead, artisan goat cheese in Lander, WY.

We are self taught goat herders and cheese makers, learning the ropes from books, countless experiments, and many classes over the years.  Cheese making is a magical alchemy that fulfills Lindsey's passion for science and Ben's artistic nature.

In 2019 life pushed us to explore new pastures. We put Slow Goat Farm on hold and moved to Saratoga, Wy where you can now find us running the Medicine Bow Creamery at the Farm at Brush Creek Ranch.

We are excited to share our passion for healthy, locally produced products with you!
